To determine if your chipmunks are thin, you can observe their body condition by looking at their overall appearance. Thin chipmunks may have visible ribs, hip bones, or a lack of muscle mass. You can also weigh your chipmunks to see if they are underweight compared to the average weight for their species. If you are concerned about their weight, it is best to consult with a veterinarian for a professional evaluation and advice on how to help them maintain a healthy weight. **

Yes, chipmunks do have a belly button. Just like all mammals, chipmunks are born from their mother's womb and are attached to the placenta through their umbilical cord. After birth, the umbilical cord is cut, leaving behind a belly button as a reminder of their connection to their mother during their time in the womb. **

Chipmunks are generally not considered dangerous to humans. They are small, timid creatures that are more likely to run away than to confront people. However, like any wild animal, they may bite if they feel threatened or cornered. It is important to respect their space and not try to touch or feed them to avoid any potential risks. **

Chipmunks experience stress due to a variety of factors, including predators, competition for food and territory, changes in their environment, and human disturbances. Predators such as hawks, owls, and snakes can pose a constant threat to chipmunks, leading to stress and anxiety. Additionally, conflicts with other chipmunks over resources like food and nesting sites can also contribute to their stress levels. Any disruptions to their habitat, such as construction or landscaping activities, can further increase their stress and impact their overall well-being. **
